Dr Victoria Hiley
has been in legal practice since 1996. After beginning work in the area
of medical negligence, Victoria moved into commercial law in 2000, becoming
an accredited specialist in employment law / industrial relations in 2005.
In November 2008, Victoria obtained her doctorate in law which focussed
on the legal, ethical, political and sociological aspects of the right-to-die
debate. In addition to employment law, Victoria has expertise in health
law and medical ethics. She currently works part-time for McArdle Legal.
Victoria has acted for and advised both corporate and individual clients
in all of the following areas: discrimination, unfair dismissals, unlawful
terminations, unfair contracts, policy documentation, award interpretation,
contracts of employment and occupational, health & safety. Victoria’s doctorate,
"In Pursuit of a Good Death: Responding to Changing Sensibilities in
the Context of the Right-to-Die Debate", will be published in mid-2009.
